WHAT'S THE 411 ON JKABEL?
The story behind the artist
The name JKABEL is pronounced (Jay-Kay-Bul) The name derives from the first initial of his first name, J, combined with Kabel, which is his middle name. Originally from the Pine Grove Park section of Virginia Park, in Cocoa, Florida. JKabel moved to Daytona Beach, Florida at the age of 11. Music was always loved, but the piano became his love after he studied under the Deland, Florida legend, Kendal Akins. Also spent time learning piano from the late great Mr. Keevin Gillard. JKabel then went on and studied Theatre Arts on a collegiate level at the Bethune Cookman University - School of Performing Arts. After gaining exposure locally as an actor, JKABEL took his insight from theatre and went on the road with a national stage play in 2005. He toured the country for three years alongside national recording artists, actors and actresses. In 2008, after the touring ended, the songwriting commenced. JKabel relocated to Minnesota in 2013, and ended up composing, writing, and recording his first R&B single entitled Do What You Wanna Do. Fast forward to present day JKabel has four albums completed, and released.
